Is this what it's like to spend weekdays at home? It feels like heaven! I wish I had more weekdays at home and I don't mean WFH.
Bailey was super cozy tucked away in the couch.
I sipped some organic yerba mate tea with local honey and ready the first chapter and a half of Lovely Bones. I don't typically have time to read, but I'd like to make more.
My friend Kat was kind enough to let me borrow her book. Thanks friend!
I organized a drawer in my kitchen and gave it a liner.
House Update:
We currently have Santa's Workshop going on in our dining room and stuff everywhere. We're using folding shelves as temporary storage in our kitchen till our cabinets come.
We're actually having this wall torn down and adding base cabinets with a granite countertop.
Over here, we're adding large cabinets that will serve as our pantry.
Cabinets should be here on the 30th. Can't wait!
I had leftover turkey for lunch and snacked on Christmas cookies from my mom. I love how Bailey sneaks up on me whenever I have food...hungry little guy!
My plans to bake Christmas cookies didn't work out, so I had more time to spend with hubby on the house. We had plans to do stuff but since I had another hour or two, we decided to take a trip to IKEA. I've been wanting to go for some time, but haven't had a week day available to go since we moved into the house, and I heard you don't want to go to IKEA on the weekends.
I found tons of stuff I wanted.
Here are some photos of things we liked:
Since it was our first trip to IKEA ever, we decided we had to partake in the famous food.
I saw a lot of food I wanted to get, but since I had plans to work out later in the day, I tried to choose more carefully. Nothing worse than a belly full of cake when you're zumbaing your a$$ off.
We HAD to try the Swedish Meatballs in honor of our first trip.
We got a nice seat by the windows.
Lunch
Hubby got the Swedish meatballs with french fries. The meatballs were better than I thought they'd be. They were nice and tender and the gravy was nice. The french fries were pretty good, too - nice and crispy.
I had a wee bit of veggie soup with a tiny glass of pepsi. I thought the soup was pretty good. I didn't check the nutrition info.
Can you believe with all that shopping, we only left with a pair of curtains?!
We got a pair of the Vivan curtains. They are way longer than the ones we picked up from Pottery Barn and are wider, too. They are a nice mix between the two things we were shopping for - polyester (which I didn't want) and cotton (which I did want). These curtains are a blend of the two, so I guess I can think of that like a compromise.
We are hoping to purchase a few things on the cheap from IKEA soon, furniture-wise, so we can get our house close to ready to have people over. We just need to take some measurements and look at our budget. We have more want than money, as per the usual! lol
Just downed a Clif Kid ZBar in Honey Graham.
I'm off for a workout!
Do you have any furniture/stuff from IKEA? Do you like it?
LOOOOVE IKEA!!!

IKEA has great stuff, but assembly is a pain. I wish I had paid someone to assemble the stuff I bought. I still plan to go back again.

My entire new kitchen is IKEA. Unlike most of the IKEA furniture it was SHOCKINGLY easy to put together and install and it is freaking awesome.
I see a bathroom sink in your photos too. I debated about one of those but chose against it because its really difficult to find faucets to fit that one hole configuration at the regular hardware type stores. Just a word to the wise perhaps...

I love the items at IKEA, but just dread actually having to put them together in my own home!
