It's been a good day today.
Hubby picked up some fresh-baked Great Harvest bread for us today - Cinnamon Chip (been wanting to try this one!) and Flax Oat Bran. Yum!
Hubby and I went car shopping today. I kind of wish we weren't car shopping because finances are tight right now, but our car maintenance expenses are getting higher and higher and I'm wondering when it will make more sense cost-wise to just get a new car? Maybe soon?
I thought this little black car was pretty freakin hot! Unfortunately, hubby and I are more in the market for a sedan or crossover.
See! It's a talent! I ALWAYS pick out the most expensive thing (whatever it is - clothes, cars, plates). I can't believe it's so expensive! Good thing we aren't shopping for sports cars!
We spent a few hours at the car dealership but did not leave with a new car.
Post-car-shopping, we were supposed to go to IKEA but we spent too long at the dealership and decided to go straight for dinner. Another meal out! Eat in Month Challenge can't get here soon enough! lol
We hit up a fave local spot of mine - Fiamma's. I love them because they make everything from scratch - from their breads to their limoncello!
We started with a sampling of red wine. I forgot the name, but it was pretty good.
I was more in the mood for white and got the Falanghina, Vinosia.
Bread and pesto. They bake both the bread and breadsticks in house!
Hubby and I split the warm asparagus salad as a starter. This is a half portion - they split it for us! I loved the combination of flavors - esp that shaved parm!
Mango sorbet palate cleanser
Hubby and I also spilt an entree - saffron pasta, crab, and tomato. (topped with fresh-grated parmesan) Wow, such a great dish! I loved how light it was overall and that subtle saffron flavor...yum!
Free homemade limoncello sample at to finish our delicious meal. Perfect-o!
For dessert, I broke into one of the chocolates I got in my stocking for Christmas - Endangered Species All-Natural Individually Wrapped Supreme Dark Chocolate squares.
PS I just noticed on their web site, this chocolate is vegan, gluten-free, and kosher. Neat!
I decided to just eat one piece. This is why these individually wrapped chocolates, though more expensive overall, are better for me. I can eat chocolate veeery slow! I like to enjoy one piece here and there instead of feeling pressured to finish a whole bar before it goes bad.
This little piece of chocolate was the perfect sweet-ending to my day and just the right size!
I can't believe I'm off this entire week and still feel SO darn busy! Have I been letting too much build up or is it just the whole new house thing? I dunno!
On the agenda tomorrow:
- Sew a fabric gift (or a couple)
- Go grocery shopping for my Eat in Month Challenge
- Buy furniture + curtains + curtain rods from IKEA
- Setup IKEA furniture
- Install curtains and curtain rods
- Shop for a rug for our master bed room
- Go car shopping and test drive some cars (maybe buy one?)
- Finalize 2010 resolutions
- Mop bathroom floors
Do you feel more or less busy on your vacation days?

good luck on your jam packed day tommo!

That is one nice car ~ you have good taste!
& you have a very busy day coming up - wow. I generally feel less busy on my days off because I deliberately make it that way. So on work days I try to get as much done as possible, running to Whole Foods after the office and doing other errands at lunch, so I can cocoon at home if needs be. If we had a car 24/7 things may be a little different!

Well you look great in that car!! I always feel so busy on my days off because there is a lot of pressure to get everything done. I usually take some time out to bake or something fun though :-)

ouch, sorry to hear about the car maintenance issues...i finally had to get a new one because my car would break down randomly ALL THE TIME and it was like, come up with $600 randomly if you want to drive again! making car payments just seemed easier!

wow, that car is smokin'!! lol I always seem to pick out the most expensive thing too whatever it may be! That restaurant looks right up my alley mmm love how everything is from scratch. I have to say I feel busy when I'm off too, especially when visiting because there never seems like there's enough time to fit it all in!

With all the good reviews about the car here in the comments section, aren't you regretting not buying it? Well, I guess it is true that the better the car is, the more demanding it is for automotive services. But hey, if your car's THAT awesome, it's all worth it, right? Ha ha! Btw, I love it there in Fiamma's. I'm glad you had saffron pasta! It's my favorite!
