Finding the chic in everyday life

I love eating, cooking, crafting, zumbaing, ice skating, and lots of other randomness.

First generation organic.

Since December 2008, I've lost 15 lbs and I hope to continue my healthy habits of nutritious eating + frequent, fun exercising.

I'm definitely going to check out that article by Sara Snow! I'm always trying to find new ways to be greener. We recycle, use our own grocery bags, and try to walk whenever we can instead of driving. I'd love to do more though!

Your dad does sound like a pioneer! :o)

A few of the things that my husband and I have done/changed about our lives include: We are both vegetarians, we use reusable cloth bags when shopping, we turn off the water while brushing our teeth, we walk when we can instead of driving, we use more energy efficient light bulbs...

Its the little things that add up to be something great!

Good for you for wanting to be more environmentally conscious!!

Maggie

My dad was green too - we had a garden, a compost, and he was incredibly frugal... sometimes too frugal :) Now I use the reusable bags, I recycle cans and paper... I grow my own basil in the summer too. I wish I could compost, but my apartment complex is not so good with that.

I'm trying to change my habits too. I stopped using paper towels, I try to always remember my cloth bags, and thanks to some recent tips on my site, i will be reusing my Ziplocks. I try to reuse and repurpose as much as possible. It's fun when you get creative.

I can't wait to see your fabric grocery bags!!

I can't wait to see the article. We recycle and I am thinking of a garden. We take our own bags. We have started small and hope it will make a big impact.

I also go with the organic food delivery, reusable shopping bags, turning off the water/electricity when not needed, etc. I was intrigued by the compost idea however, here in the humidity (and bug filled) area of Central Florida, I don't think that is in the cards for this gal...
