It's here! It's here!
I ordered Ellie Krieger's The Food You Crave: Luscious Recipes for a Healthy Life a couple weeks ago and it's finally here! Have you seen Ellie's show? She cooks healthy food, but she uses real ingredients. I'm not a fan of diet sodas or reduced fat foods. I'd rather eat the real thing and eat less of it. Ellie shows you how to cook great tasting food that is healthy, and by healthy, I mean not just low in fat or calories, but good for you - chock full of vitamins and other goodies.
I've made a couple things from Ellie before: Oven Fried Chicken, Tuscan Roasted Chicken and Vegetables, and Linguine with Shrimp. I'm sure you'll be seeing lots more of her recipes here now that I have her book. Yippee!
I have the book but haven't made anything out of there just yet... That cookbook stand - love it!

I have this cookbook too. I really loved Ellie when she first started on the food network. When I began blogging I think I did one of her recipes every week (Proof: http://erincooks.com/tag/ellie-krieger/) :)
I really love the spice rub she uses in her Cowboy Steak recipe, as well as the Turkey Meatloaf. Her oven fries are yummy too, as is her version of a healthy Fried Rice. I hope you enjoy the cookbook!
PS: Make the easy strawberry pancake sauce. It's fabulous.

Her success can be attributed to her way of offering real advice without any of the gimmicks and crash diets the permeate today’s news. She reaches people with her message that it is possible for anyone, given the tools and knowledge, to live life to the maximum by being in healthy balance, nurturing a richly satisfying and sumptuous, attainable lifestyle.

I do love watching her show too! The recipes were luscious, but healthy as well. Since I started dieting, I got so conscious with what I eat everyday. And now I'm into clean eating. Diet recipes and clean eating recipes are the kinds of books that I'm currently reading so that I'll get to be slimmer and healthy too.

My wife is a fan of hers, actually. Everyday, she prepares healthy and mouth-watering dishes that we truly enjoy. Holistic nutrition is important for us, especially today that there are lots of kinds of diseases. Here in Calgary, different families have also become more careful in providing their family good nutrition. They even consult someone who is expert in giving healthy recipes for the whole family.
