I wanted to make something healthy for dinner the other night and after brainstorming for awhile, my thoughts went to Ellie Krieger - one of the Food Network TV chefs who specializes in creating healthy meals. I don't remember exactly how I stumbled onto it, but I found a recipe by her for Oven "Fried" Chicken, which I thought sounded pretty interesting. After reading the rave reviews for the recipe, I knew I wanted to try it out, and I was not disappointed.
I've grown up eating healthy foods in general. My parents have always been into eating the "right" way, so taking something stereotypically "unhealthy" and making it "healthy" sounded like a great idea to me. I'm not going to say that this recipe ended up tasting just like fried chicken, but I actually thought it tasted better. Sure, you don't get the crunchy skin and all that, but to me, this was more filling and left me feeling better after I was done eating it. The ingredients in the binder and the spices added to the breading mix gave the chicken an extra, yet subtle, kick. Yum!
I served mine with saffron rice and sauteed spinach with garlic. This recipe is definitely going to be a staple for our dinner rotation. We've already had this for dinner twice in the last week!
You got a really useful blog I have been here reading for about half an hour. I am a newbie and your post is valuable for me. these practices are unfair; but they say that most of their rules are only to apply to people who overdra.
