Did anyone do anything fun for the superbowl? We went over to a friend's place to hang out with a group and I was told everyone was bringing food over. It was sort of a BYOM (Bring Your Own Meat) event, but we didn't feel like grilling, so I decided to make chili and cupcakes.
I had never actually made chili before, but I found a simple recipe online here (click). It uses lots of great, fresh ingrediants - ground beef and a couple veggies. Look at all those onions!
The recipe definitely cashed out all my chili spice. I think I'm going to have to get a bigger container next time I hit the grocery store.
Look at that. Mmm...it turned out great! Between the 7 of us, we downed the whole thing! Who knew chili was so easy to make? I think I'm going to have to cook this one again...and again...and again...lol
As for the cupcakes, I could have used my hand mixer, but why do that when you have such a pretty KitchenAid? She's still not named yet...heehee. I need to think on that some more.
Thank you, Duncan Hines, for providing such easy-to-make cupcakes. They were, as always, delicious. You know, I think I always use box mix for cupcakes. I don't think I've ever made cupcakes from scratch...I should try that sometime, though...I bet they'd be pretty darn good, too!
All I have to say is yum and adorable. Yum for the cupcakes and adorable for your KA mixer in of course robins egg blue:-) I love chili as well and your right it is easy to make.
Hugs

Since you're an animal lover too, I should mention that on Super Bowl Sunday, there was a show on the Animal Planet Channel for those people who are not football fans. (like me and the Mr.) It's called "The Puppy Bowl" and it's a bunch of puppies of all different breeds running around frolicking on a make-believe football field. There is even a "referee" to call fouls when one of the puppies has "too much contact" or "doesn't share his water dish". It's hilarious but it's also adorable. I fell in love with every puppy I saw!
