Finding the chic in everyday life

I love eating, cooking, crafting, zumbaing, ice skating, and lots of other randomness.

Since December 2008, I've lost 15 lbs and I hope to continue my healthy habits of nutritious eating + frequent, fun exercising.

I *think* the Laura Ashley empire started in the 70's. So, yes, her stuff can be vintage. (At this point I think even 80's is vintage. Scary.)

Beautiful finds :) Oh, and your red beret from the previous post is really gorgeous. Would you have the link to a similar pattern? Thanks.

Diana

Hey Shredz,

The pattern is not quite yet availble, but I'll be sure to let you guys know when it's ready to purchase.

You've made me appreciate old things since I've started reading your blog. Regarding the tablecloth, if I had simple pattern, I'd proably cook an elaborate meal. A busy pattern makes me thing of tea and finger sandwiches or desserts. However, the pattern DOES look vintage Mexican or similar. How about Mexican appetizers and some fruity drinks with a bunch of couples over to enjoy them??

stephanie

Hi Diana,
I love that tablecloth, it is so pretty and has a great pattern.. I think Mexican would be great because it is colorful and full of flavor just like the tablecloth. I know what you mean about people finding all this cool vintage stuff, I guess you just need the right store. Check out Gigi and all her cool finds http://www.flickr.com/photos/giginbigred/sets/72157602823860334/

I love go "hunting" for all the vintage goods :)So now I barely can wait till spring comes and all the markets will begin again!

as the table cloth... I would serve russian food. The patter looks so much like the russian scarfs with big flowers to me :)

Penny

I'm thinking something ssspicy for that beauty of a tablecloth! Maybe Indian?

Diana

love the tablecloth it makes me think more morrocan cuisine, the neat stuff always leaves the shop before I can get there so I feel your pain on the vintage finds!!
